Nothing new...

Well, nothing new and life is good!

Here are some things that make me happy:
  • Kyle will be home exactly 1 week from today. :)
  • I get married 1 week from Friday- that is exactly 9 days from today. It is already 9:30, so really, we can go ahead and say 8 days. :)
  • This is the last week of school and I will have 2 months off. :)
  • I jogged 2.5 miles tonight. :)
  • I have just about everything ready for the wedding. :)
  • Kyle will be here...with me...very soon! Yesssss. :)

Here are some things that are not so great:

  • What if I don't find a job over the summer??? :(
  • All the junk I ate before I went jogging and how I probably didn't even burn off a quarter of it. :(
  • When Kyle left 5 months ago I wanted to loose 15 pounds and every single one is still here. :(
  • What if this rain STILL doesn't stop by next Friday??? :(

Over all there are 6 things that make me happy and 4 that don't. I guess that leaves an excess of two happy things. Thus, life is good and I am officially a nerd- although anyone who knows me well enough to read this already knew that.

Here are some pictures of the favor boxes for the wedding. They will, of course, be filled with "pink" candy- pink Peppermint Patties, pink Hershey Kisses, pink M&M's, pink Dove chocolates, etc. I finished about 1/2 before my power went out today. By the time the power came back on the motivation was gone and I didn't finish. I guess there is always tomorrow...although I said that about loosing weight and we see where it didn't get me... :)

Wedding Craftiness...

Tonight has been a productive night of wedding prep!
These are the reception centerpeices...

This is the unity candle I came up with- getting that 'H' to stay on was killer!!
And here are all 44 menu cards...finally finished!

Only sixteen more days to the wedding! :) YAY!

Most Awesome Bridal Shower Ever...

So, Saturday (May 16) I had the most awesome bridal shower ever. :) My amazing friends out did themselves! I really am so lucky to know such amazing people. It was super fun and exciting to get gifts when it isn't even my birthday or Christmas. Thanks for all the great gifts and for coming to visit ladies! It was so nice to see friends I don't get to visit with nearly enough and catch up! Love you all!!

Little Blessings...

Yay! Kyle will be home on time and to stay! :)

Bad news: His tibia (shin bone) is broken in two places near the knee joint.

Good news: The bone isn't splitting so he doesn't need surgery. He will just have to heal on his own over time. The doctor did draw out blood and fluid from the area today and will do it again on Monday.

All this means that Kyle leaves to come home in two weeks and four days and we get married three weeks from today!! I was getting worried for a minute that he wouldn't be able to come on time or that he would come and then have to go back for surgery. We haven't even gotten married yet and we have all kinds of crazy memories and stories to tell our kids about someday. Should be a fun road ahead- never a dull moment.

Bits and pieces...

........... Well, Kyle went to the doctor Tuesday and he said that his knee sounded "solid." He didn't think the ligaments were torn and everything seemed stable. Unfortunately, it is still too swollen to do an x-ray. Kyle goes back next Tuesday and they will take an x-ray and then determine if an MRI is needed. I am taking all this as a good thing and hopefully, Kyle will be playing basketball again soon (NOT before the wedding though) and he will come home on time. Yay!

So, yesterday I saw the absolutely adorable invitations Lolly made for my shower (top right)! She is super talented! I am really excited for next weekend! :) I have the best friends ever!! Thank you guys for all you do!

Speaking of crafty things... to the left is one of the menu cards for the wedding that mom and I have been working on. The colors didn't scan in right- the blackish brown color is actually a chocolate brown in person. I am really excited for June to get here...

Isn't it always something???

Well, my fabulous husband-to-be still plays like he is 16. Kyle played football and basketball in high school and is VERY into sports. I think sometimes he forgets that a 30 year old (almost) body doesn't do what a 16 year old body does. :) He was playing basketball this morning (after marching 8 miles yesterday morning and running 5 more last night) and somehow somebody's foot got under him and he fell and tore the ligaments in his leg around his knee. :( He said it hurts really bad and is very swollen. He will need an MRI to determine how bad it is. However, the MRI can't be done until the swelling goes down- so, they are doing one Tuesday. The doctor said he will most likely need surgery. SOOOO, there is a chance that if he has to have surgery before he comes home and they don't get him in early he could be delayed in coming home!!! AHHHH! I really hope it isn't too bad- so that he will heal and not have any lasting problems AND so I don't have to reschedule our wedding...again. Isn't it always something???
